The application process for study in Sweden is quite simple. It involves few step, have a look.
- Decide your program:
The major step is finding program in master’s degree that is suitable for you. You should check the program you want to apply is being provided by Sweden. You can directly check available program on Universityadmissions.se; or check on given website of a specific university.
- Check requirement and deadline of the universities:
After deciding which program you are applying, now you can choose universities where you can apply. Make note of the eligibility criteria of the university, deadline of the application and other important dates so that you do not create hustle while applying for the program. The deadlines are clearly mentioned on the university websites as well as given on Universityadmissions.se. Usually the deadline for autumn session is given as January while for spring it’s given as August. But it’s better to always check on for each university on their website.
- Apply to universities:
You can apply to universities through Universityadmissions.se. You can apply to 4 different courses to four different universities through single application form.
This process involves online application, general eligibility documents like your academic certificate, your identity proof , your other degree etc; your English proficiency document for international students. The tests you can give to prove your English knowledge are IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge Michigan Language Assessments, Pearson PTE Academic and University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations. The minimum score required for these tests are specified on Universityadmissions.se.
It takes SEK900 for non European as application fees. Student from EEA and Switzerland do not require it.
- Wait for letter from university:
Once you have applied then you should wait till the university personnel go through all the application. The result will be on Universityadmissions.se on a specific day and will inform you in personal also. After receiving an acceptance letter from university give your confirmation whether you are attending the program or not. If you are not European, EEA or citizen from Switzerland you need to pay the first installment for your program.
- Apply for visa:
As you are an international student, and about to stay for more than three months, then you need to have a visa. As this visa process can take a long time you should apply for it as soon as possible.
- Ready to fly:
Once you have your acceptance letter, your visa and other documents ready you are now all set to fly to Sweden.
